Henderson Cocktail Shaker
Brief

While interning at Carter McGuyer Design Group, my team and I were tasked with designing a cocktail shaker and bar tools that had multiple uses. These products needed to play into the upscale aesthetic of barware that Carter previously designed. I was heavily influenced by his line of barware at Crate & Barrel.

Inspiration
Concept Development

explored integrating two uses into one product: measuring drink contents & shaking the cocktail. I also considered the ideal user – a bartender or someone making casual drinks at home. Converting the lid to perform as a jigger makes for a quicker cocktail-making experience. This is a product that would be used with an accessory strainer, so the most important details were proportions & accurate liquid measurements for the lid.

Finished Product

Our team utilized SolidWorks and Keyshot to model & render our designs. I wanted this shaker to blend with Carter McGuyer's product line for Crate & Barrel, so the finish is a matte, brushed stainless steel. The lid can hold one or two ounces depending on which side is used.
